I do not want you to be unaware, brethren,that often I have planned to come to you (and have been prevented so far) so that I may obtain some fruit among you also, even as among the rest of the Gentiles.
Interesting comment that Paul made here in parenthesis that he had been prevented so far from going to the Christians in Rome. I’m sure some Christians would say Paul’s schedule with the Christians he is with, or the authorities, or the lack of funds, is what has prevented Paul from traveling to Rome. It makes no difference which of those cases is true because it is God working His Will in each situation.

Just as Paul made it patently clear in Acts 16:6-7 (Bible Truth #127) that it was the Holy Spirit that prevented him from certain destinations, to Christians who believe God is truly sovereign, God was the one who was preventing Paul from traveling to Rome - not the Romans, not the Jews, not a lack of funds, but God.
