5 “Thus says the LORD God of Israel, 'Like these good figs, so I will regard as good the captives of Judah, whom I have sent out of this place into the land of the Chaldeans.
6 ‘For I will set My eyes on them for good, and I will bring them again to this land; and I will build them up and not overthrow them, and I will plant them and not pluck them up.
7 ‘I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart.
Wow. Everything I read in those verses tells me what a sovereign God was going to do and there was no hint that any man, woman, boy, or girl, has a choice in the matter whatsoever. Especially in verse 7...
I will give them a heart to know Me ... and they WILL be my people ... they WILL return to me...
In that verse God says there are three different things that WILL occur. I really do not see where the Arminian continues with his insistence that man has a free will.
Jesus said, “Those the Father has given to me WILL come to me...” (John 6:37). The giving has already occurred, those given will come, and those not given will never come - they have no hope of being saved. (Ephesians 2:12, 1 Thessalonians 4:13)
