All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
Since we were given to Christ before the foundation of the World (Ephesians 1:4), God has the entire process rigged. God is sovereign and He gets His way, every time, all the time. We, you and I, every Christian who ever lived and every dead spirit of lost men God will quicken in the future, ALL OF US, were chosen (by God) before the foundation of the world and given to Christ at that time. At some moment in their lives, all those who were chosen WILL be quickened through the gift of faith (Romans 12:3; Ephesians 2:8), WILL be given the gifts of belief (John 6:29; Philippians 1:29) and repentance (2 Timothy 2:25), and WILL come to Christ as Savior. That is what Jesus said. All that the Father gives to me WILL come to me. They WILL come into the Light - no ifs, ands, buts, or excepts.
The lost cannot come into the Light because they hate the Light (John 3:20), and even those chosen hate the Light before God converts them. But God will convert those He has chosen and after He does so, they WILL come into the Light - they WILL come to Jesus. It sure doesn't sound to me like those chosen had any ability to refuse does it? The creature is not more powerful than the Creator and does not have the ability to reject coming into the Light any more than Lazarus had the ability to reject Jesus’ call to him to come forth out of the grave. (John 11:43-44)
Now, an important point: the giving by the Father precedes the coming to the Son. A man can not come to Christ if the Father has not already given him to the Son.
I’ve written about those who were chosen and given by the Father to the Son, what does that say about those who were NOT chosen in Christ before the foundation of the World? Unfortunately for them, they will not receive mercy, but justice. No one receives injustice. All humanity deserves Hell but God in His mercy & love chose some to save. I praise God He chose me.
Bottom Line - when God calls, you ARE coming.
