Bible Truth #59 - Psalm 139:16

your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

What do you think God meant when He had David write that? What did He mean by “days?” Do you think God meant only the number of days? I don’t. But what was written in God’s Book ABOUT the days? I believe God had determined, before David was ever born, every second of every minute of every hour of every day of his life... in other words, every event that occurred every day of David’s life - and by clear implication, ours as well. And since all of our lives intertwine, saved and lost, I believe every event in the lives of the lost have been determined (written) too.

Coincidence is a word fabricated by man around 1600 - men who probably weren’t Christian because that word is NOT found in the Bible. It is not in the Bible because there is no such thing in a Christian’s life. God orders the steps of man (Proverbs 16:9) and every event in our lives is INCIDENTAL, not coincidental. Incidental, ordained, determined, and appointed according to God’s plan and purpose for our lives. He WILL fulfill His purpose for us (Psalm 57:2, Proverbs 19:21). There is no “free will” in this principle.

Remember one of my points from an earlier Bible Truth? There is the Lamb’s Book of Life (Revelation 17:8) and then what I call the books of the dead (Revelation 20:12). And what was recorded in the books of the dead? Things they had done. And do you think it was only SOME things? I doooon’t think so. Every event of every person’s life was written before the foundation of the world - the number of their days as well as every event that would occur during each one of those days, INCLUDING [in the lives of the Elect] the moment in time God quickened the dead spirit and GAVE us faith, belief, and repentance. These books are outside of time, they are in Eternity. Entries are NOT being made as each person goes about their lives.

And it is ALL for God’s glory. Why would He ordain (appoint) something to occur that would NOT bring Him glory?

God is sovereign and there is no free will, He only makes some people believe they have free will. All the lost think they have free will and after God saved some, He determined they would continue in that errant, man-centered belief. We are slaves to sin or slaves to righteousness (Romans 6:17-18) and slaves have no free will.
