Bible Truth #141 - Romans 10:20

Romans 10:20
And Isaiah boldly says, “I was found by those who did not seek me; I revealed myself to those who did not ask for me.”

Where is it written in Isaiah? Isaiah 65:1

This verse goes hand in hand with Romans 3:11 which says there is no one who seeks God, especially the wicked (Psalm 10:4). It confirms that since no one seeks God, it’s His choice to whom He gives salvation. It’s His choice to whom He reveals Himself. And He gives it to His Elect, those He chose in Christ before the foundation of the World (Ephesians 1:4).

Jesus also spoke of this principle in Luke 10:17-21 and Luke 10:22.  But yet many Christians will ignore these facts and continue to insert the “free will” of man into God’s salvation plan.  They are not able to let go of that part of the flesh from their life before God saved them.  God has not yet given them that level of faith (Romans 12:3).

This also easily reconciles with John 1:13, We become children of God not by the will of the flesh, i.e. not by human decision.
