About which I’ve written before (no man has faith unless God gives it to him), this verse proves that a lost man has NO faith. To whom would Paul be referring if not the lost? This is why a lost man can't please God (Romans 8:8), he has no faith and anything not done in faith is sin (Romans 14:23).
No lost man can acquire faith, nor can a saved man get MORE faith, of his own volition. God has to give faith to a man for him to even know he needs faith to begin with. And without faith, no man can be saved. Not only that, but God determines how much faith each believer possesses (Romans 12:3).

There it is plain & simple, the lost do not have the faith it takes to believe, to understand, or to be saved. When God gives a man faith, it is for the purpose of saving him (Ephesians 2:8).
