Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, according to the promise of life that is in Christ Jesus,
Paul did not become an apostle by his “free will”, he became an apostle by the will of God. This easily reconciles with John 1:13 that we become children of God NOT by the will of the flesh, i.e. human decision.
Paul confirms with Timothy what he wrote to the Ephesians years before - God works out everything in conformity with His Will, there are no exceptions (Ephesians 1:11). It makes no difference what our will is.
Bottom Line: GOD works everything out to His pleasure, not ours.
