Bible Truth #262 - Hebrews 3:1-4

1  Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the Apostle and High Priest of our confession;
2  He was faithful to Him who appointed Him, as Moses also was in all His house.
3  For He has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses, by just so much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.
4  For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.

For every house is built by someone, but the builder of ALL THINGS is God. The first verse that reminded me of was 1 Corinthians 3:6 where Paul was telling the Corinthians that he may have planted the seed, and Apollos may have watered it, but it was only God who makes the seed grow. See Bible Truth #118 in which I discussed that if the seed DIDN’T grow in someone’s heart, then obviously God didn’t want it to grow.

But the point then and now is that God is the builder of all things and this includes the hearts of men (Psalm 33:15). If God doesn’t “build” a heart of faith in a man, that man will NEVER be saved. God determines whether the heart will be opened to the Gospel or not. (Acts 16:14)

Bottom Line - We become children of God NOT by the will of the flesh (John 1:13).
