And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.
What more can be said about this passage except to emphasize the obvious? Blessed are they who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb. The angel did NOT say blessed are every soul because every man is invited. The angel did not say blessed are those who accept the call to the marriage supper of the Lamb. He said, “Blessed are they who are called...”
If a man had an option to reject the call, and he did, he would be cursed, would he not? But the angel does not allow for that at all. Blessed are they who are called... every - single - one.
Well, who are called? The Bible clearly says in Romans 8:29-30 that those whom God calls, He glorifies, i.e. SAVES. There is no option for man to accept or reject this call. Each one of those words in the golden chain of redemption are verbs and something God did, not man - it's already done, even for His Elect who will be conceived next year or 100 years from now! God foreknew (proginosko) His Elect and only His Elect, God predestined (proorizo), God called (kaleo), God justified (dikaioo), God glorified (doxazo). God does NOT call every man, woman, boy, or girl (1 Corinthians 1:26). He calls ONLY His Elect, those He chose in Christ before the foundation of the world (Ephesians 1:4).
Bottom Line: ONLY those who are called are blessed. God draws the Elect and Jesus raises up EVERY man God draws (John 6:44), NOT every man who “accepts” the drawing.
