Bible Truth #191 - Romans 10:12

Romans 10:12
For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile - the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him,

Is there anything in this verse that remotely suggests that blessings are available to all? No, God blesses all who call on Him, and only those who call on Him.  It's His choice because He's sovereign.

We now get back to the same argument - who will call on Him? The lost won’t because they hate the Light and WILL NOT come into It (John 3:20), every imagination of their heart is only evil continually (Genesis 6:5).

Calling on the Lord would be pleasing to Him, would it not? Paul writes in Romans 8:8 that those controlled by the sinful nature (those in the flesh, i.e. ALL the lost and sometimes even Christians) can NOT please God.

To call on God the lost would have to understand spiritual matters, correct? Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 2:14 that the man without the Spirit (i.e. the lost man) can not understand ANYTHING from the Holy Spirit. And Jesus Himself said to the lost that they are unable to hear (understand) what he is telling them (John 8:43). Calling on God is a spiritual act, and a lost man is spiritually dead (Ephesians 2:1, 2:5; Colossians 2:13) and can do NO GOOD THING (Romans 3:12).

Bottom line - the Lord richly blesses ALL who call on Him and calling on God is something the lost man will never do, he is not ABLE (John 6:65).
