Bible Truth #150 - Psalm 115:3, 135:6

Psalm 115:3
Our God is in Heaven; he does whatever pleases him
The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth, in the seas and all their depths.

How many times in the Bible do we read that He is sovereign? Those who believe in free will say, “Yes, I believe God is sovereign,” but their belief is only true until man’s “free will” comes into the equation. To that I say, “Sorry, God is sovereign over our will too. God gets His way by CHANGING what we want, by CHANGING our mind without asking us, by working in us to will and to do according to His good pleasure (Philippians 2:13).”

Now if the Arminian says, “That’s right - and it is His good pleasure to give us an autonomous free will.” To that I say, OK, show me the Holy Scripture where God says that. It doesn’t exist. I say again that “free will” is a man-centered concept that finds no support in God’s Word. Romans 6:17-18 clearly says that we are slaves - slaves to sin or slaves to righteousness, and slaves have no free will.

The Lord DOES whatever pleases Him and it’s clear to me that He works in some people to make them think they have free will.
